Origin of the invention

Mr. Thomas Ludewigt is an engineer as well as an experienced project manager and managing director, see http://www.pro4innovation.com/. He also has many years of experience as an inventor. Mr. Thomas Ludewigt is also enthusiastic about motorcycling.

This combination of interests, experience and expertise gave rise to the idea of a lifting and lowering platform with a sliding mechanism in 2015, for example to stow a motorcycle in a motorhome. For this purpose, the platform should be able to be extended horizontally from the motorhome and lowered vertically onto the ground to accommodate the motorcycle. The platform would then have to be raised vertically and retracted horizontally into the motorhome together with the motorcycle.

In order to implement this in a space-saving yet stable manner in the horizontal plane or in the direction in which the platform is retracted and extended, and to ensure that the motorcycle is safely supported, a construction was created whose fixed frame mounted in the motorhome can hold the movable platform by means of two different mechanisms, depending on how far the platform is retracted or extended in relation to the frame:

OfficialExamination procedure

The patent application was filed with the German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA) on April 10, 2015 as 10 2015 004 394.3.

The first examination decision of the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA) produced four documents in the patent literature as prior art. By combining the original claims 1 to 3 to form an amended claim 1 of the patent application, a successful delimitation from the officially searched prior art could be achieved directly.

This amendment to the patent application led to its grant on March 24, 2016 as German patent DE 10 2015 004 394 B3: Patent publication at Espacenet.

Within the scope of the amended and granted claim 1, an international subsequent patent application with publication number WO 2016/162508 A1 was filed within the 12-month priority period.

From the international patent application, the national phases in the USA and Canada as well as the regional phase before the European Patent Office (EPO) were then initiated via our network of foreign correspondence attorneys, among others. In the course of the audit procedures, it was always agreed with Mr. Thomas Ludewigt how to respond to the respective objections raised by the authorities and, if necessary, how to implement them. the claims of the respective application are to be amended in order to respond to the objections of the respective examiner or to refute them, while at the same time keeping the scope of protection of all patent applications as broad as possible and covering the product according to the invention. All three of these examination procedures resulted in patents being granted.
