As a patent law firm, we offer the following activities and services:
- Filing and representation of patents and utility models in Germany, before the European Patent Office (EPO - patent only), before the International Bureau (WIPO - patent applications only) and abroad via our respective local foreign associates.
- Registration and representation of trademarks and designs in Germany, before the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and abroad via our respective local foreign associates.
- Advice on IP rights options and IP rights strategies
- Representation in opposition, cancellation and nullity proceedings relating to patents, utility models, trademarks and designs, either directly or via foreign associates.
- Support in infringement proceedings for patents, utility models, trademarks and designs, if necessary in cooperation with lawyers, if necessary via foreign associates.
- Examination of the relevance of existing property rights to products (freedom-to-operate analysis or right-to-use analysis)
- Advice in the area of employee invention law
Representation before authorities and courts
The activities listed above are carried out by taking over the representation before:
- the German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA),
- the Federal Patent Court (BPatG),
- the Federal Court of Justice (BGH) as the appellate instance of the BPatG and as a participating patent attorney,
- the European Patent Office (EPO),
- the Unified Patent Court (UPC),
- of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO),
- the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and
- the German regional and higher regional courts responsible for patent law as a participating patent attorney.
The enforcement of property rights (infringement proceedings) is carried out before the ordinary courts through representation by lawyers. Patent attorneys can be consulted in these proceedings.
